The DeVos Medical Center In Liberia

Bo-Waterside

Tewor District, Grand Cape Mount County

Liberia, West Africa

This medical center now serves as a stalwart cornerstone amongst the bordering communities of Western Liberia and Eastern Sierra Leone; providing highly needed medical and other health care services: including general diagnostics for appropriate treatment and or referrals, as well as a considerable focus on pre/post-natal care. The center even though it charges as little as for most patient care, provides free services for pregnant women and children under five.

The DeVos Medical center also further strives to provide preventive care as an integral part of our rural ministry, to promote a healthy and more productive community. Since its historic opening in 2011, the DeVos medical center has most recently opened a laboratory in 2012, with additional efforts geared toward opening its own Blood bank in late 2013; both of these efforts are a part and parcel of our unflinching commitment to enhancing the quality of care and the saving of lives.

Now with the advancement of science and modern technology, modern medicine recognizes the attending sophistication of today’s advanced medical and diagnostic systems-absolutely necessary in today’s world-for proper and appropriate treatments. As such, the DeVos medical center is directly committed to the acquisition of and inclusion in its medical arsenal, the MRI, CBC machine, X-ray, EKG and other modern medical technologies (the CBC machine being the most critical)-albeit with the attending and appropriately trained staff within the foreseeable calendar year.

Additionally the introduction of the DeVos medical center mobile clinic is scheduled for mid-year 2014, as we endeavor an expansion of reach to coincide with the anticipated operations of our surgery theater.

Words are truly most inadequate to fully express our thanks and convey the gratitude of the Liberian and Sierra Leonean communities of which the DeVos village complex is today a cherished pillar of re-energize hope and attainment.
